What Logistics Looked Like Before 4Shipper
Before implementing 4Shipper, PEBAL’s logistics processes were managed almost entirely manually. Most communication ran through email and phone calls, while key information was stored in multiple Excel spreadsheets. This system was not only time-consuming and difficult to track, but often led to duplication or inconsistent data.
“Every day we were dealing with dozens of emails and phone calls with carriers. Repeatedly checking terms&conditions and carrier availability. These activities drained our logistics team’s energy. On top of that, we lacked a centralized database we could draw on quickly. We also had no reliable reporting,”

This approach soon hit its limits. Processes were slow, the admin workload kept growing, and there was no clear overview of historical data that could support better decision-making.

- Thanks to the time saved on administration, 0.5 FTE was reallocated to the procurement department – which PEBAL sees as a major benefit.
- 276 shipments were managed directly through 4Shipper in 2024.
- From January to August 2025, 214 shipments were completed – 25 more than in the same period of 2024 (189 shipments), representing a 13.2% increase in completed transport in 4Shipper.
- 18 carriers joined PEBAL’s private database of carriers in 2024.
- Carrier selection time was reduced by 67% — before 4Shipper, the process took on average 3 hours; after implementation, it takes about 60 minutes.
- PEBAL saved more than €25,000 on transport in 2024 after introducing 4Shipper1.
- Email communication within the logistics team was reduced by 21%, leading to greater work efficiency.
Expanding the implementation
Looking ahead, PEBAL is considering rolling out the platform to other branches within the group — particularly where transport volumes are higher and the benefits of the platform would be most significant.
